George W. Bush's Sci-Fi Disaster

In retrospect, George W. Bush’s presidency could be viewed as a science-fiction disaster movie in which an alien force seizes illegitimate control of a nation, saps its wealth, wreaks devastation, but is finally dislodged and forced to depart amid human hope for a rebirth.

It is astounding that the democrats, in general, and Nancy Pelosi, in particular, moved so much to block the impeachment of Bush. I see the democrats and republicans being very much alike. That is not bi-partisan but rather it is a political merger and backing down on comittments. Does that mean that most politicians are looking towards our leaders and legislators maintaing a position as being above the law? To me this is very scary. That now means that our president now has no obligation to conduct himself or herself in a lawful manner.

The sci-fi angle in this column is priceless.

Bush going up in the helicopter is a lot like the Pods flying up into the sky at the end of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers."
