In the last year of his life, Martin Luther King Jr. questioned U.S. military interventions against progressive movements in the Third World by invoking a JFK quote: “Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.”

A very good article - as you say, all well known if people read history and pay attention. But for a new generation it is possible to escape the ignorance - if your students watched Al Jazeera english instead of the mainstream tv, and read Truth Out instead of mainstream media they would not be heading for the cynicism of the current people in power.
