Just as Sylvester and Tweety Bird achieved lasting Hollywood fame from their comical cartoon chases, the less amusing duo of George W. Bush and Osama bin Laden continue to benefit each other by reviving their long-distance rivalry, one posturing against the other in a way that helps them both.
In a new video, al-Qaeda leader bin Laden again taunts Bush, the United States – and then the Democrats for not forcing an American withdrawal from Iraq, which should help guarantee that the Democrats won’t dare press for a withdrawal from Iraq.
Read on.

I must chide you for a corporatist attribution of the Tar Baby story. It's not "Disney's Brer Rabbit" -- those stories are folk-tales, the most famous version of which were written down by Joel Chandler Harris as the Uncle Remus stories.
Let us give the devil his due only when it's his due.
Otherwise, write on!

The issue at hand, (IMO) is that we the educated who possess the responsibility for education of the masses, must continually and repeatedly ask this question so that the people hear the question and begin to ask it them selves.
The question is this....
Bin Laden and Al Q have gone to great lengths, have killed hundreds of thousands, and thousands of their own soldiers under the banner that the US MUST GET OUT OF ARAB LANDS, specifically Iraq and Afghanistan.
That the congress, even as weak as it has been, the Democratic party has been attempting to end this occupation. To what degree they have been successful, or even sincere is NOT a part of this discussion.
If the Democrats have been trying to remove the US from the failed war in Iraq, and Al Q's mission statement is to remove the US from Iraq, then why in the fuck would Bin Laden put out another very poor quality video and make statements that virtually removes any possibility that the Democrats will have any success at all doing exactly what Bin Laden has said the US ought to do?
Especially on the 9/11 anniversary, with the Congress working on plans to do policy battle with Bush, with Betrayus about to deliver his supposed make or break speech, the situation with Iran getting hotter, and with most of the original White House cast of liars bugging out and going back to Texas?
The statements made, and the timing of these statements, even the most "sheepish" of Americans outta have their curiosity piqued this time!
And we, the informed and politically active, ought to do what we can to poke at that pique.
Several online reports identify the source of the latest bin Laden video tape as coming from the SITES Institute. I think we need to consider the source:
SITE Staff
Rita Katz is Director and co-founder of the SITE Institute. Born in Iraq, her father was tried and executed as an Israeli spy, whereupon her family moved to Israel [the move has been described as both an escape and an emmigration in different sources]. She received a degree from the Middle Eastern Studies program at Tel Aviv University, and is fluent in Hebrew and Arabic. She emigrated to the US in 1997.
Katz is also the author of the book Terrorist Hunter (HarperCollins, 2003) in which she chronicles her infiltration into US-based Arab groups to investigate terrorist connections as a private investigator.
My eyesight may be failing, but the latest bin Laden photo does not look like the previous published photos, black beard not withstanding.
