The people behind the criminalizing of dissent have no respect for US democracy. Transparent government? No way. Secrecy rules the day. Checks and balances? Nope. The President should be given the discretion to indefinitely detain people he considers a threat to the country. Rule of law? No thanks. Immunity from legal action will do the trick.
Evidently torture, domestic spying, war profiteering, etc. should all be protected by way of declaring investigations off limits for national security reasons! Or by claiming that it is too disruptive and divisive to rehash the past.
Incredibly the authoritarian conduct of many government officials is celebrated! Authoritarianism is the new patriotism. Wow. Talk about sick (not to mention unAmerican).
"Furthermore, the overzealous and aggressive surveillance tactics used by the National Security Agency (NSA) to check the public's e-mails, telephone calls and other communications are the same ones as were in use during George W. Bush's administration. Likewise, the amount of spying on personal exchanges is as high as it ever was."
And yet, the author manages to mention President Barry's name ... not even once.
Absolute power, without honest oversite by the American people is Washington, as we see it today.
Republicans and Democrats are drunk with authority, which naturally expand in order to maintain that power.
We have a government out of control and rife with abouse of civil liberties, and if you cnnot see both parties are conspirators to it, you are simply not looking.
The Feds are run amok and need to be put out of business. Time to pack up our state reps bags and shut down the offices once and for all. The only way to end this drunken crack addicted power-party is to go home and mind our own business.
