The Ongoing Iraq Intel Fraud

By Robert Parry
May 5, 2007

Almost five years and perhaps half a million deaths too late, it’s finally the accepted wisdom in Washington that the intelligence that George W. Bush used to justify invading Iraq was garbage. But the pattern of twisting the truth about Iraq continues unabated and the President is still rarely called on it.

Bush has never stopped making statements about the Iraq War that are untrue, illogical or irrelevant. Yet, the Washington press corps remains almost as lax today about holding Bush accountable as it was in 2002 and 2003.

Read on.

I don't quite understand why after all this time anyone except those whose minds are all Bushed up pays attention to what Bush says as if it had real meaning aside from trying to guess what the madman is going to do next. It's like trying to make sense of the babbling of a two-year-old. His actions have made his intentions clear. Are we trying to convince the Bush-heads of something through reason? That doesn't work.

Perhaps what we should be doing is charting what has actually happened and predicting, by noting the patterns, of what will happen unless countering actions are taken -- such as impeaching Bush and his gang. When one discovers that one is being mugged and people are being killed by a con man with a pleasing patter one should stop listening to the patter and look at what is actually happening.
