Not to take away from the argument, but Iran did invade Iraq, back in the 80's, when we encouraged both sides to go at each other, Iraq getting information from the US, while the US also provided guns for hostages to Iran.

Isn't, France, Germany, China, Russia, the UK and the US all In agreement with sanctions against Iran? It seems to me in your efforts to attack the president you are also against the 5 permanent members ( and Germany ) of the UN. Isn't President Bush also saying that thru diplomacy He believes Iran will scummed to the transparency that the UN is requesting? Just saying, your claims are very weak, and do not support what is being said collectively by world leaders, or what is being done at the white house

I think that you are right. Despite of iranian president foolish claims that it seems even has no support in Iran, i think thet this is another piece of a mixed political puzzle! Energy or something similar!

@andrew,

The war began when Iraq invaded Iran on 22 September 1980, the rest is correct.
