Senate Hits Bush, Cheney on Iraq Intel

By Jason Leopold
June 5, 2008

President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney knowingly lied to Congress and the public about the threat that Iraq posed to the United States in the months leading up to the March 2003 invasion, according to a long-awaited report from the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Separately, a second report said former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld set up an intelligence office within the Defense Department known as the Office of Special Plans "without the knowledge of the Intelligence Community or the State Department" to promote alleged links between Iraq and al-Qaeda and cooked intelligence about Iraq's weapons cache.

Many are now coming out to voice their opinion about how Bush and Chaney got us into the Iraq war, but are letting them get us into yet, another War in Iran, and maybe helping Israel to start one in Syria.

I wonder who's lining (or who's lined) Pelosi's pockets. We might be better off with HRC as Speaker of the House. At least, the latter's not a wimp (which may be why Pelosi loathes her). The only viable action is to put pressure on Pelosi to do what she should be doing or kindly step down, as she's "unpatriotic." Ha.

Anonymous (coward!) is mixing pomegranates and granny smiths ... or maybe s/he isn't articulating her/his dubious stance with clarity. Nobody smart that I know or read that's looked into the nefarious actions of B-C-Rove-Rummed is pushing for war against any country. Methinks we have an Israel hater here. Maybe bomb Isreal instead of Iran? Maybe bomb nobody, dude/dudess. Simply impeach the "worst people in America."

Impeach. Indict. Imprison. ASAP! It's the only legal recourse there is for holding them accountable for their many heinous crimes.

Now the Senate has officially covered its ass. Nothing else to do here, friends--by the way, has the golf course been booked for the weekend? My yacht's in for repairs.

Carol -- you make a good point about Hillary not being a wimp, but she's in the Senate, not the House. I agree with you about how Nancy feels about Hillary.

Too bad Nancy can't set aside her loathsome attitude for Hillary and do what's right for the country.

I agree with the content of this blog. But how about giving us atleast
the name of the REPORT?!

Also, where is the report that says Congress didn't do it's job in investigating the claims of the Bush Admin?

It appears that the forces are gathering to finally see to it that will allow for all of the Bush regime criminals to be held accountable for their atrociously criminal acts.
The Senate Intelligence Report, and Bugliosi's book, The Prosecution of George W Bush, give us all the facts needed for bringing these thugs to justice.
We should let our voices ring loud, and if possible, demand that Mr. Bugliosi become the Special Prosecutor to take down this demonic man and his entire gang of co-conspirators. They have done nothing but wreak havoc and misery upon us, our Constitution, created more retaliatory danger to each and every one of us, undermined Americans and all that our country stands for. But of course, the biggest shame of all their evil deeds is the callous disregard for human life.
As true supporters of out troops, and in honor of every lost life in this tragic and needless war, we should all buy his book and do everything we can possibly do to bring it to the attention of the masses and to big media...blogging, letter writing, phone calls.
Vince has given us a chance to be heard now - we need to take this moment and act and demand action from those in power.

Impeach. Indict. EXECUTE.

Those crimes DO carry the death penalty and that's the ONLY way to be sure this will NEVER happen again. The whole world MUST know that the American people are willing to take THEIR power back and reinstate a democracy.

I don't see anything "Independent", "Investigative" or "Journalism" in that post. I do see a bunch of quotes from various libs.

Didn't God ask Mr. Bush to invade Iraq?

What's wrong with you IDIOT liberals? You've tried everything to impeach, you couldn't. Now you are recreating the facts to suit your needs. Your Democratic CIA produced the intelligence for Iraq's invasion (yes, all Demos). Your people found the reasons for war. NOW, you try to blame it on Bush and Cheney. Idiots.

AND, you are backing a MUSLIM Anti-Christ for President. God Help US.

Carol Novak:

Why is it that anyone that criticizes Israel has to be an israeli-hater? That fallback is stupid.

I resent the fact that we have promised to go to war to "annihilate" anyone that attacks Israel. I say, let Israel take care of itself. We pay for and provide enough weapons for Israel to rule the world. Why does the U.S. have to pledge to go to war whenever Israel chooses to claim that someone has done something wrong to them? Israel has velcroed itself to the U.S. at a time when we need our resources here at home.

And I am not an Israeli-hater, I am an Israeli-don't-care-er." I am far more interested in the health and well-being of my family, friends, neighbors and community , some of whom are suffering financially and need the attention of our government far more than Israel does.

Congressman Kucinich suggests the following to see to it that Bush is brought to account for his illegal and immoral conduct while president.

He informs us that his bill has a number now, HR 1258, and he recommends that you contact your house rep and ask that he or she read it and then let you know what he or she thinks -- and if it does not inspire him to sign on to the resolution, ask "Why not?"

Presently, he has two more house members who have signed on to the resolution.

So, once again, contact your representative at www.house.gov
and find out where they stand and why.

AND write to the members of the House Judiciary Committee who has the bill right now, and let them know of your support, today.

Thank you.
