Bruce Fein concludes his new book, American Empire: Before the Fall, by demolishing the worldview of Henry Kissinger as expressed in a Washington Post column last year.
I, for one, do not think that by compromising the core ideological principles of the left,in pursuit of one specific goal(opposing imperialists wars)it is the right approach. After all right wing Libertarians( the same can be said of the Tea Party)are happy with the idea of the US as the sole hegemonic power of the world.
Many things ca be said about the causes that have led to the almost demise of the left here in America. One of these, I think, has to do with allowing right wings nuts like Sarah Palin, Glen Beck and others to hijack, by adopting a populist tone, the left's agenda.
