In interviews in recent weeks, Gen. David Petraeus has been taking a line on what will happen in mid-2011 that challenges President Barack Obama’s announced intention to begin a troop withdrawal from Afghanistan by that date.
As you rightly suggest, Petraeus has unduly appropiated of too much power in setting the outcome of the war in Afghanistan according to his own interests, sidelining in the process the Obama's authority as the C.C. That Petraeus is acting this way in defiance of the president authority is proof of the creepin influence the military is having in the civil affairs of American Society.
