Washington Post columnist David Ignatius has become the latest voice of influence to sing the praises of former Rep. Lee Hamilton, who is almost universally hailed in U.S. power circles as a modern-day Wise Man, a Democratic centrist who shuns partisanship and puts love of country over politics.

Well, I guess we cannot trust Lee Hamilton (any more). Hmmm. Didn't he also contribute to the 911 whitewash. If so, why does CN trust that report? Maybe we should take another look.
Robert Parry, thanks. I knew little of this and it makes me sad and also furious. How can Democrats keep helping criminal Repubs by being bipartisan, when the opposite never happens? Obama is doing just that and getting no benefit at all. It is like pandering to Netanyahu. The Iran-Contra crime, even without the drug part, was overthrowing an elected government AGAIN, and killing so many Nicaraguans in their own land, using lies. Sound familiar?
When I met Lee Hamilton, and shared with him several documents that showed "his" 9/11 Commission report to be false, he was noticeably uncomfortable only once. That was when I mentioned Stephen Cambone, Rumsfeld's assistant.
Incredibly, some feel that Lee Hamilton suddenly became honest as co-chair of the 9/11 Commission, after leading several obvious cover-ups, including the inquiries into Iran-Contra and the October Surprise. That is not only a ridiculous assumption, but suggests that Hamilton had a leading hand in writing the report. The investigation and report were actually the product of Bush adminstration (x2) insider Philip Zelikow.

Even if the report was the product of a Bush administration insider, that does not mean Lee Hamilton was totally marginal to the 9/11 Commission's proceedings.
I knew this story, but not so many of the gory details.
Of course.
No wonder Lee Hamilton is everybody's favorite blue ribbon panel ex congressional Democrat.
Fight for public access tv and indy media.
Twice in one week. Very disappointing. Mr. Parry, I remain a fan of your actual journalism. But here you leave out Hamilton's latest achievement, his aiding of the 9/11 coverup. To think that that would be any exception to his previous record is ludicrous.
I guess we know who Robert Perry really is when he deletes comments that question the veracity of the official story...
