Iraq & the Non-Withdrawal Withdrawal

By Norman Solomon

Last week, a media advisory from “The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer” announced a new series of interviews on the PBS show that will address “what Iraq might look like when the U.S. military leaves.”

A few days later, Time magazine published a cover story titled “Iraq: What will happen when we leave.”

But it turns out, what will happen when we leave is that we won’t leave.

I always hear about "redeploymnet"... meaning that they'll just sit across the border, or the gulf, somewhere ready to pounce whenever they feel like it. If thats the definition of withdrawal then this is nothing more than a simple shell game. A complete charade meant to bamboozle the "booboisie" at home while pickpocketing them through a debased dollar and inflation.

No wonder George has that stupid grin on his face. He gets to play the great "Bushini", in top hat and cloak, waving his magic wand. Never mind that its all an illusion , or that the hand is quicker than the eye, because "the show must go on".
