The Bush Debacle: One Year to Go?

By Robert Parry
January 20, 2008

The political calendar indicates that in one more year – on Jan. 20, 2009 – the presidency of George W. Bush will come to an end. However, the worst consequences of his disastrous reign, including the Iraq War, may be nowhere near ending.

Today’s presidential frontrunners, John McCain and Hillary Clinton, were early prominent supporters of the Iraq War and appear to have suffered little political damage for lining up behind Bush in 2002 when he was at the peak of his power.

Read on.

What if McCain does win? Would Americans opt to move to Canada in order to avoi his proposed "100 Years War" in Iraq? ? I heard Canada was ramping up its immigration centers in expectation of another wave of "Blue Staters" in the event of a Republican victory: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp
In the independent film "Blue State," the protagonist does exactly that. He decides to flee the United States after another republican victory in 2004, due to strong liberal ideals: www.bluestate.com

Why the Democrats Will Not Impeach

By Joseph,

When the Democrats took control of both Houses in the United States Congress in November, 2006, most of my friends were ecstatic and were looking forward to finally starting the impeachment process against President Bush and Vice President Cheney.

How could the Democrats not immediately start this process that would let the outraged citizens of this country know that they have not been forgotten by the politicians that they elected to the US Congress for the very purpose of stopping the insanity of the neo-fascist Bush administration. When I responded pessimistically to my friends’ enthusiasm about finally putting an end to this insanity, most of my friends laughed and said I was just being my usual "negative self".

I was not convinced that anything would change even though the Democrats took control of both houses. I expressed my opinion on Cambridge cable TV that I was not hopeful that the Democrats would impeach since they had been complicit in all of the atrocities of the Bush administration since the beginning of this administration. Of course, there are some exceptions but I would say at least 95% of those elected politicians in Congress are complicit to varying degrees and are as guilty of the atrocities of the Bush administration as George Bush and Dick Cheney are.

Except for Representative Dennis Kucinich and Representative Cynthia McKinney, there are no other "voices in the night" speaking out about the lies and deceptions of the Bush administration and the 9/11 Commission regarding what happened on 9/11. Three steel framed buildings collapsed on their footprint in freefall time on September 11. This is physically impossible without the use of explosives. On September 11, NBC and Fox News reported at the Pennsylvania crash site of Flight 93 that there was no sign of any commercial jetliner, jet engines, bodies or luggage at the crash site. Jamie McIntyre from CNN reported on live TV soon after the attack on the Pentagon that there was no sign that a commercial jetliner hit the Pentagon.

I could go on and on about the unanswered questions and the outright lies and deceptions of the 9/11 Commission and the Bush administration about 9/11. You could find much more detail and information about 9/11 on my website or many other 9/11 websites.

So why is it that the Democrats will not impeach? I think there are two main reasons why the Democrats will not impeach. One reason is that they would lose much of their campaign funding from the lobbies that contribute to their reelection campaigns. These lobbyists, including AIPAC, support the military/industrial/oil/private central banking complex. This complex supports fear-based wars that last for many years. War is the most profitable business alongside drug trafficking, which is another generator of income for this complex. This complex supports "false flag attacks" to create the fear necessary to have the general populace support ongoing aggressive wars.

The other reason is that the Democrats know that any investigation of 9/11 will clearly implicate them. The Democrats would be implicated not for the planning and orchestration of the actual false flag attack but for the intentional cover-up and subsequent support of the Patriot Act, support for the fake war on terror to replace the Cold War, the illegal war against Iraq and Afghanistan based on obvious lies, the planned illegal attack on Iran and the illegal wiretaps. Simply put, the Democrats would be implicated in the fascist takeover of this country.

Now that it is clear that they will not act, we the people must. We must vote out of office all of them. Since the electronic voting machines are in the pockets of this complex, the voters must turn out in very large numbers so that any hacking of the vote would be obvious. We must demand that our state legislators petition the United States Congress for an Article V (of the United States Constitution) Convention for the purpose of amending the United States Constitution to deal with the corruption of the federal government.
