To Save the Republic, Tax the Rich?

For all the laid-off “Joe the Plumbers” who share the Right’s fury about the “class warfare” of imposing higher taxes on millionaires, there is this hard truth: the rich don’t need as many of you as they once did – and taxing the rich may be the only way to make the economic system work for you.

It seems as though ethics has not matured with the times and some of our cherished ethical principles need to be revisited.

While we may feel that everyone should be treated equally, it is apparent that everyone is not treated equally in our society and it is a great injustice to pretend as though they are.

In particular, it is clearly unjust to tax the same percentage from everyones income, whether they make $5000 a year and are starving or they make $500,000,000 a year and know not how to spend it all.
