Remembering Howard Zinn

By Daniel Ellsberg
January 29, 2010

On Wednesday morning, before I learned that my friend Howard Zinn had died, I was being interviewed by the Boston Phoenix, in connection with the February release of a documentary in which he is featured prominently.

Proof that only the good die young.

James, this last post proves that you are not only an idiot, but also a world class asshole. What is your problem? Remember your "challenge" to me to deal with the "substance" of your last assinine post?

Well, why don't you engage? I'm here, I'm ready to tear your half-baked right-wing half-truths to shreds. Let's go.

If you are not willing to engage on my previous response, then get the fuck off this blog and stop disrespecting those who have done more to advance the cause of democracy in ten minutes than you have done in your entire life.

Be gone, troll.

By the way, RIP Howard Zinn. Thank you for teaching me to think critically and to always question authority. Your teachings inspired me to study history and compelled me to activism. Your optimism in the face of undaunting odds has given me hope even when I know that it's probably hopeless. I love you Howard Zinn, and although I will miss you dearly, I know that you will keep fighting for justice from wherever you are.

"Half-truths," Nat. Like you, Zinn was a socialist weasel. You want to exist in your own little echo chamber, create a private blog. So long as you're listed on aggregators, more rational people will read your rants, and as long as you allow comments, have the privilege of bursting your little ridiculous assertions.

And by the way, moron, "advanc[ing] the cause of democracy" is hardly something to brag about, considering the FACT that we're a "republic," not a democracy.

Let me know when you actually burst an assertion, James. Debate is fine, and indeed welcome. What you're doing is nothing of the sort, however. You're just trolling.

James Young is all too typical of the truley ignorant- determined to stay that way, and so arrogantly dense as to argue his ignorance.
Socialist? The stupid asshole doesn't understand the meaning of the term but thinks it is an insult.
Buy the way, dummy, democracy is a Goal that the entire rational world embraces. Republic we would be providing we had Representitive Government.
Clearly that is a misnomer.
