Hummmm...a few weeks ago the US had "steadfast loyalty" to Egypt and Mubarak. Israel should be afraid...very afraid.

I thought it was kind of weird that a military person got sent, instead of Hillary Clinton, the Secretary of State. Maybe they thought a woman wouldn't be "reassuring" enough, especially one who had recently raked Israel over the coals after Israel insulted Biden on his visit there.

Or maybe I should be looking at it this way-the general was way down the totem pole, below the Vice President, below the Secretary of State. Whatever, the timing is kind of ironic: less than a year ago Netanyahu was insulting Biden while at the same time schmoozing Pastor Hagee, and now 2011 rolls around and Israel is whistling in the dark, trying to pretend that it isn't scared shitless. I don't think this was the domino game Israel had been led by the neo-cons to expect.
