The New Technology of Repression

By Robert Parry
October 30, 2008

In its final months, the Bush administration is pressing ahead with a new generation of spy technology designed to strengthen the U.S. military’s ability to detect and eliminate suspected insurgents in Iraq and elsewhere based on computer analyses of their movements and activities.

So let me get this right. Kissing is a terrorist activity? Getting in or out of a car? Taking something out of the trunk?

Walking????

And then - someone is on a terrorist "watch list" so you just kill them? Whatever happened to due process, trials, evidence and all that?

Oh, wait...nevermind.

I want to move to Socialist Sweden where the government doesn't have this need to spy on its own people, because never fear, the neo-cons will dream up some excuse for doing exactly that.

The government had no trouble executing the Rosenberg’s even though they months earlier had grilled George Koval’s coworkers and swearn them to secrecy. Only talking years later when Russia gave real spy, who stole the bomb, a medal.

Ethel Rosenberg was falsely convicted of typing papers she didn’t understand, and the government had no problem calling it a capitol offence,

People crossed to street to avoid people they knew during the McCarthy witch-hunts while integrationists in the south feared for their live’s day and night.

The government had an easier time framing the Cuban 5, than detainees at Guantanamo despite Guantanamo having less due process, and the Cuban 5 will probably end up serving more time in total.

The Government brags about the battle for Sadr City, and it seems pretty scary but I bet we will end up having more rights in the future than we have today.

Actually the neocons went back home to roost with the Dems and support Barky. Eight years of Bushy ought to tell you that the Pres is only a puppet regime.
If they say they will have something soon they have already had it for 10 years. This technology is well above the Pres since they are only a puppet.
The problem is an elite group of bankers instead of your neighbor, dems and reps are just terms to keep the masses fighting themselves instead of the bankers.
