In one of the first acts of the 111th Congress, House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers proposed legislation to create a blue-ribbon panel of outside experts to probe the “broad range” of policies pursued by the Bush administration “under claims of unreviewable war powers,” including torture of detainees and warrantless wiretaps.

I would say that if this is the best that John Conyers can come up with considering the fact that he is the Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, it is a sad day for America.

Its feels as if they have just announced the formation of the Warren Commission.

Has anyone ever asked John Conyers if he ever read the book "The Constitution in Crisis: The High Crimes of the Bush Administration and a Blueprint for Impeachment" written by John C. Conyers in 2007?

This really is a case of them pissing on our backs and telling us that it is raining.

No investigation of Nush crimes will be complete if the crime that started this nightmare, Bush's theft of the 2000 electon in Florida. Every previos generation of americans fought and died to establish and defend the principles that Bush wiped out with his illegal stopping of the legal Forida vote count. Most of the votes not counted in Florida in 2000 are the votes of black women. What a different place our country would now be had all of the uncounted votes been counted as Florida law required. Bush would've spent the last 8 years back in Texas where we the people had voted for him to be. Bush's broad daylight coup d'etat in Florida in 2000 must be accounted for so that never again is the will of the people so blatantly trashed and thwarted.

With all due respect it sounds more like a strongly worded letter to me

You want to get to the bottom of all this put a few prosecuters on the commission like vincent bugliousi or david iglasies then have your commission
