All the wrangling, and perceived support for torture by WSJ, is tiresome at best. Yes, a lot of the Congress knew what was going regarding torture. The Dems did nothing, threw up a little smoke, but allowed the Federal Government to engage in this illegal activity. Plain and simple, anyone who breaks the law should pay the consequences. That said, Congress places itself above the law in matters of policy just as they disdain input and comment from those who placed them in office. The government institution in this country is corrupt when Americans cannot get any justice from those government officials who break the law. Nothing will ever happen to anyone in the Bush Administration who broke U.S. Law. This is a fine example for Americans and our children on how to manipulate, control, pass-the-buck and side step responsibility that truly affect the lives of millions of people.
