On the eve of the Chinese President’s visit to the United States, and the intense speculation about his intentions — and ours — I found myself in a dark room at the Anthology Film Archive in the East Village watching a spectacular documentary by Chinese filmmaker Zhao Liang called “Petition.”

I would like to be doing something but everyone wants all your money for doing absolutly nothing and absolutly are against your continueing to breath their air if they had anything to say about it and if there is not a rule against your doing whatever it is you are trying to do then it should be illegal.
