The Intellectual Mystery of 'Inception'

“Inception” is a frontrunner for awards this year, for a number of factors. The film exists primarily in dream worlds, so the visuals are stunning and surprising. The acting is superb across the board. The story is both intellectually complex and emotionally engaging.

Lisa, I would really like to know your take on Shutter Island. I personally think the ending that annoyed many people was actually ambiguous and open to many more (and darker) interpretations.

I would, and I am surprised you haven't seen it actually. It touches on MKULTRA, ARTICHOKE, and PAPERCLIP... Viewed through that lens, I think that the movie lends itself to a different interpretation of the ending than the conventional one, but I won't say more...
