New Evidence of Bush Torture Crimes

By Jason Leopold
March 17, 2009

As more pieces of a very ugly mosaic fall into place – including new details from a confidential 2007 report by the International Committee of the Red Cross about interrogations at CIA “black sites” – any remaining doubt that the Bush administration engaged in a conscious policy of torture is disappearing.

Sounds like Cheney has confused "legally" with "deliberately."

And it reminds me of Howard Zinn's argument about "collateral damage." When we decide to use lethal force, knowing full well that civilians will die no matter how accurate our "smart bombs are, and yet we decide to rain Hellfire missiles from our unmanned vehicles on them, as in Pakistan almost every day, then we are killing them deliberately.

We kill far more innocents for political purposes--GWB's own definition of terrorism damns him--than any other nation-state or non-state actor. It's our modern method of industrial-scale human sacrifice.

"Death from above" is our way of playing god. Cheney is one of the high priests of our bipartisan patriarchal cult of kinetic power.

"Do as we say or our holy war machine will make your life a living hell, and, just like the AIG kickbacks to the arsonists who burned down the house, we'll be powerless to stop it.

Someday, our Congress will do something to put things right(don't hold breath).

There was no doubt that 9-11, like Pearl Harbor, needed to be avenged, but Bush had another agenda.

Bush, Cheney, & appointees lied about WMD, Aluminum Tubes, & Niger Uranium to Con Congress into approving an invasion of Iraq, a country that did not have anything to do with 9-11.

In WW-II, in 4 years, FDR put 13,000,000 men in the fight, beat 3 dictatorships, their leaders dead at the end.

After 7 years of War On Terror, neither Bush nor Cheney could find Osama Bin Laden, our US reputation is in the gutter, we're still at war, over 4,200 US Soldiers are dead, over 30,000 maimed for the Bush-Cheney arrogance & lies. They ordered Torture, a violation of Federal Law.

Unless Obama's statement that “no one is above the law” is a lie,

Obama must appoint a Special Prosecutor for Bush, Cheney and the appointee lawyers that advocated Torture, violated many Federal Laws, our Constitution & the Geneva Convention on Torture.
