The Author is confused. While it is true that US and Pakistan are NOT on the same page re AfPak, the solution is not for the US to adopt the Pakistani agenda but for Pakistan to adopt the US agenda. The US has many carrots and sticks to accomplish this, including the threat that the US will partner with India to stablize Afghanistan, stop the flow of US weapons and billions to Pak etc. What is the US agenda? To stop Pakistani financing and support of terrorists that kill Afghani, American and Indian civilians.

The USA is in the middle east and central asia for the oil/pipelines/mineral deposits. This stuff about global terrorism is made up crap. Still, it could be true now, it wasn`t when they went in.
